We are currently living in a world that is fluctuating daily due to the ongoing pandemic. That doesn’t mean that Spring 2022 is completely over. There are plenty of places to visit locally and beautiful hikes to plan and take. The warmer weather is on the way, and with it, a new chance to visit some wonderful places here in the UK. The winters can be very bleak and dark, so when spring arrives, we are looking forward to the warm weather and beautiful vibrancy of life returning to the outdoors. The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is beautiful all year round. Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the loveliest villages there. Visiting this village in the spring just adds a whole mix of color to the surroundings. Bourton-on-the-Water boasts honey-color stone buildings and in the spring, daffodils, snowdrops, and primroses line all the hedgerows, making it look even more stunning. You can also find lambs playing in the nearby fields.
Take a lovely stroll over the bridge, along the river, and down the peaceful country lanes and footpaths here. If you head further afield, you can walk the 6-mile Upper Wharfdale wild walk, which follows traditional drystone walls, hillside streams, and flower-rich meadows. Another excellent walk is the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, which takes you past tumbling waterfalls and through an ancient oak woodland. It’s the perfect springtime family adventure.
7. Brownsea Island, Dorset
Located in Poole Harbour, and home to the red squirrel, this National Trust island, complete with a castle, is a haven for wildlife. “Brownsea Island is a spectacular place to visit if you are a genuine wildlife enthusiast,” says Lynn Warner, a travel blogger at Ukwritings. The island boasts excellent birdwatching as well.
8. Edinburgh, Scotland

10. Blickling Estate, Norfolk
Did you know that nearly 50% of the world’s bluebells are found in the UK? It’s true. In the spring, there is no better place to see these wonderful blue flowers than visiting the ancient Great Wood at Blickling Estate in Norfolk.
The estate is cared for by the National Trust. The manor is surrounded by gardens, with lots of children’s activities, it’s the perfect place the whole family can enjoy.
